A Bill To Prohibit Open Grazing In Anambra State Scales First Reading At the State House Of Assembly

A bill for a law to prohibit and abolish open and Nomadic cattle and other livestock grazing and rearing in Anambra State and to establish cattle and other livestock ranches in the state,has scaled first reading in the Anambra State House of Assembly.

The bill which was presented to the House by the Majority Leader, Dr. Nnamdi Okafor seeks to put a final stop to open grazing in the state.

Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Uche Okafor read out the bill for the first time,while the lawmakers supported through a voice vote.

Also at plenary, the House passed a resolution commending Governor Willie Obiano for achieving oil producing status for Anambra State.

The House passed the resolution following a motion sponsored to that effect by the member representing Dunukofia Constituency, Honourable Lawrence Ezeudu during plenary.
